Especially, for the underprivileged everywhere!
    through peaceful, constructive action

Especially, for education; health; jobs

Especially, by forming local groups--Young (and Old!)
do it yourself; rather than waiting for the "leaders"!

Especially, follow Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez.........!

Suggest; Participate; Act!

It will be a joy combining my ideas(?) with yours!

When shall we begin? (How? Where?)

Prompted by the recent murders of four Israeli-Palestinian youths:

Talk to Californians and make a list of people who will join together to send their condolences to the parents of these young men. With their cooperation and the help from the Israeli and the Palestinian governments, we should find out if a joint memorial can be created for these victims of unending, ongoing hostilities. Every one here should pledge at least one dollar as members of human family. It sounds impossible but that is a type of Gandhian approach for tolerance, cooperation and peace.

With the help of the community leaders, a limited, local systematic poll or survey should be conducted to find one issue or program for which there is minimum of differences and maximum of agreement. Especially, one should talk to young people to know their honest opinion about such an unusual step.

In fact, even a small step in this direction may encourage people to exchange goodwill and good ideas in stead of "exchanging" rocks, bullets and bodies of innocent victims.

This can be combined with the idea of "Children's Museums" described in the previous post.

Presence of small "informal" museums in poor areas--be it in a rich country like America or a developing country like India--can become a sort of a hub for curiosity, knowledge, arts, creativity, hands-on projects, camaraderie and fun.

Any suggestions from parents, teachers, experts.....and most important of all....from children themselves?

Trying to assist a young lady/student for the nursing career

Working through siliintellectuals.blogspot.com; wrote to http://www.hfsv.org

For a Hispanic young lady/student exploring admissions in a nursing school. Please suggest best resources and ref material--virtual and "real" for a smart decision or choice.
Thanks.

PS - General

Related to the above-mentioned blog, seeking suggestions and tips from dedicated, compassionate, wise Hispanic intellectuals for useful material from your site or other sources.
Thanks.

As a physician, I believe that symptomatic solutions, though valuable, should have a complementary and subsidiary role compared to CURATIVE measures (say, ?along Gandhian lines)

Humans! Please prevent one more monstrous bloodshed

Secretary Kerry and the Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov have agreed to remain in touch.

The Crimean referendum is on Sunday.

What about Ukrainian people themselves?

Should they organize peaceful marches all across their motherland to express fraternal feelings for each other?

Should they "pledge" to safeguard interests of minorities?

How can people everywhere--including Russia--join in these efforts?

Outline of a plan to search for independent "homes" for  homeless children and their families

1 Develop a practical plan and a simple campaign to implement this project

2 Find appropriate experts, orgs,  resources and volunteers

3 Develop criteria to choose the best eligible students

4 Find deserving families of such students

5 Incorporate suggestions from young people and the the homeless students themselves

6 Involve people at individual level by launching a "$1 initial pledge drive" AND
by requesting their contribution in the form of input and non-monetary help (related to their
   eduction, expertise or experience)

The ultimate goal is for the homeless to become productive, self-dependent wage-earners plus home owners; obviously, this is the right way for their children to "overcome" homelessness
